AI Share of Voice Cockpit
Design Overview & Navigation Flow for Linda & Miguel
π What You're Looking At
The new AI Share of Voice Cockpit is a visual diagnostic tool that tracks how effectively your brand appears in AI-generated answers (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews).
Instead of a long table of metrics, you get one visual funnel showing where you win, where you're weak, and exactly what's blocking your visibility.
π Before vs. After
β Previous Report (AI Visibility)
- Long scrolling dashboard with 6 separate cards
- Numbers without context or drill-down
- No way to compare LLMs at a glance
- Hard to spot which stage is the bottleneck
- No visual hierarchy or flow
β
New Cockpit (AI Share of Voice)
- One visual funnel showing the full journey
- Click any metric to drill down into details
- Built-in LLM comparison (toggle on/off)
- Bottleneck instantly visible at a glance
- Guided tour: start broad, then focus deep
π The Six KPIs (Your Funnel Stages)
The cockpit tracks your journey through six critical stages:
Stage 1
SEE
How many AI systems even know about your brand?
Stage 2
PICK
Of those, how many choose you as a source?
Stage 3
RANK
Are you ranked at the top of their sources?
Stage 4
APPEAR
Do users actually see you in the final answer?
Stage 5
CLICK
Do they click through to your content?
Stage 6
REVENUE
Does visibility convert to customer value?
π― How to Use It (Step by Step)
1
Open the Cockpit
You see the funnel in its default state: all 6 stages visible, showing your overall performance across all LLMs.
2
Scan for Your Bottleneck
Look at where the funnel narrows the most. That's your weak spot. For example: if you're strong in "SEE" but weak in "PICK," you're not being selected as a source even though AI knows about you.
3
Compare Across LLMs (Optional)
Toggle the Compare LLMs button to see side-by-side performance: ChatGPT vs. Perplexity vs. Google. This shows where you're winning and where you're losing ground.
4
Click a Metric to Drill Down
Click any of the 6 KPI cards to see the detailed breakdown for that stage. You'll see:
- β’ Current value and trend (up/down)
- β’ How it compares to the platform average
- β’ Key observations about that metric
- β’ Recommended actions to improve
5
Act on Insights
Each detailed view includes Observations (why the number is what it is) and Actions (what to do about it). This closes the loop from insight to execution.
π§ Why We Have Filters (And Why They Matter)
Time Range Filter: See how your performance has evolved. Week-over-week shows velocity; month-over-month shows patterns.
LLM Comparison Toggle: One cockpit view, two modes. Default is "all LLMs aggregated" (your overall share of voice). Toggle to compare individual LLM performanceβyou'll see that ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google treat your content very differently.
Mentioned Brands Panel: Shows which competitor brands appear alongside you in AI answers. If competitors rank higher than you, that's a signal. Compact layout keeps focus on the funnel.
Design Decision: We kept filters minimal and action-oriented. Instead of drowning in options, you get the three filters that actually matter for diagnosis.
π Inside a KPI Detail View
When you click a metric, you drill into a focused view with four zones:
π‘ Definition (Top)
Plain-language explanation of what this KPI measures, so there's no ambiguity.
π Metric Breakdown (Middle)
Current value, trend indicator, platform average marker, and key delta (how you compare to average).
π Observations & Actions (Bottom)
Split into two cards: "Why is this happening?" (observations) and "What to do about it?" (actions). Actionable, not just diagnostic.
β¨ Design Philosophy
Precision Over Decoration
Every visual element serves a purpose. Navy background (GAIO dark), pink (brand) and teal (action) accents. Bloomberg-terminal aesthetic: data-dense, no wasted space.
Diagnosis Before Exploration
You don't scroll through 20 cards wondering where to start. The funnel gives you the answer immediately: "This is where you're losing momentum."
Drilldown as Progression
Click once to diagnose. Click again to understand why. Click once more to know what to do. Each level gets deeper without getting lost.
Comparison, Not Competition
Compare across LLMs to understand which platforms matter for your business, not to compete on vanity metrics. If Perplexity drives 70% of your AI traffic, focus there.
π What Happens Next
- Feedback Round: You review the design, flag any adjustments (layout, copy, colors, flows).
- Implementation: We build this into the React dashboard, connect real data from your AI tracking pipeline.
- Live in Production: Available to your team and clients by [timeline].
π Note: The mockup shows what it looks like. Real data will come from your N8N pipeline and PostgreSQL warehouse. This is the UI/UX layer on top of your existing data infrastructure.
